Planned Outages

Planned power outages are sometimes necessary to perform critical maintenance, repairs or infrastructure upgrades. This work helps to improve the safety and reliability of the electricity distribution system. If a planned outage is necessary, our operations team carefully schedules the outage to minimize the disruption to residents and businesses (usually during the early hours of the morning when most people are sleeping).

Before a scheduled planned outage takes place, Westario Power uses an automated dialer to inform affected customers. We also contact some facilities that may be particularly impacted by the outage, such as schools, hospitals and long-term care homes – please ensure you have up-to-date contact information on file.

Unplanned Outages

Unplanned power outages can occur for a number of reasons, such as adverse weather conditions, fallen trees, traffic accidents, construction damage, equipment failure, or loss of supply.

When an unplanned power outage occurs, Westario Power’s experienced team of line workers are dispatched to investigate and restore power as quickly and safely as possible.
